About This Item
Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1896. Hardcover. Good+/No Jacket. Clean boards, green and olive, showing minor wear at corners and spine ends, binding slightly loose, inside front hinge paper just starting to split, text clean and unmarked. On the flyleaf is afixed a magazine photo of Burroughs. Inside the front cover a postcard is afixed. The card is dated Feb. 13, 1896 and reads:" Dear Sir: Your letter after 5th is read. If you will refer to the new edition of "Riverby" you will find the statement you refer to somewhat modified. Several correspondents have written me substantially as you have. Very Sincerely John Burroughs." The card is well fastened and I cannot determine to whom it was sent but obviously an avid reader discovered some sort of error in the text.
