Rivers of America series, 1956. Price clipped. 1/2" square chip top edge rear panel dj with tiny chips, mostly along top and bottom edge spine of same, else, Pristine, no wear. Clean, tight and strong binding with no underlining, highlighting or marginalia. Yellow cloth with encircled RofA (Rivers of America Books) emblem in blind on front board, brown title plate with gilt lettering to spine. Illustrated dj in acetate protector. "50th volume in the Rivers of American series edited by Car Carmer. As planned and started by Constance Lindsay Skinner; Associate Editor, Jean Crawford; Designer Ben Feder. The "'Oregon"' was the famed river of the West in men's imagination, but when it was finally seen by white men, in 1792, it was named for the Columbia, first ship to come in over the bar, commanded by Captain Robert Gray.".
