New York: Charles Scribners Sons, 1947. Early printing of author's first book. Black boards with light blue stamping to spine and front board. Unmarked copy with light wear at head of spine. Endpapers illlustrated with stars in the cosmos. Textblock clean and still bright with nice black and wite illustrations. Jacket has been price clipped badly and has fairly large chip on spine removing alileo from title. Long tear above that, still on spine but on edge of back panel. Closed tear on rear panel and some creasing. In mylar. . Early Printing. Hardcover. Vg/NF/Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
Synopsis
Rocket Ship Galileo is a science fiction novel by Robert A. Heinlein, published in 1947, about three teenagers who participate in a pioneering flight to the Moon. It was the first in the Heinlein juveniles, a long and successful series of science fiction novels published by Scribner's. The novel was originally envisioned as the first of a series of books called "Young Rocket Engineers".
