In conclusion the book offers practical identification tables. The authors of the book are experienced mineralogists and writers of popular science publications. RNDr. Rudolf Duda graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Comenius University, Bratislava. He works in the East Slovak Museum in Kogice as mineralogist and curator of collections of precious stones and minerals. RNDr. Lubos Rejl graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Masaryk University, Brno. He is employed in Geophysics, joint-stock Co., as geologist. His specialization includes mineralogy, petrography and physical properties of rocks and minerals. His experience is based on long-time research and practical work with minerals and precious stones with particular reference to the Bohemian Massif and the Carpathian System. The exquisite photographs in this book are by Dugan Slivka, graduate of the Film and TV Faculty, Academy of Performing Arts, Prague. He collected the material with his co-authors in many museums and private collections. .
