John Ballantyne And Co., Edinburgh and Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, And Brown, London, 1813. 1st. Hardback. Good. First edition large format hardback (295mm x 235mm or 11 1/2 inches x 9 1/2 inches, 330pp plus notes and catalogue to rear) in the original grey paper-covered boards with cream linen spine, 1813, with slipcase. In original, unrestored condition with minor signs of age, handling and storage - boards rubbed and corners bumped, spine, with original title label, chipped and tanned; slipcase rubbed and tanned to edges. Binding overall tight and page-block sound - front and rear boards detached. Internally clean, no annotation or inscriptions - bookplate of a Roderick Terry to front pastedown with a faint signature to half-title page; tanning to untrimmed page-ends but text bright and clear throughout. Not an old library book.
