Farrar, Straus and Cudahy, 1957. First American Edition. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. VERY GOOD/Very Good. 12mo, b/w photo printed paper over boards, backed in black cloth with red stamped title, green author name, and blue publisher, red topstain. Some very light rubbing to tips, clean and sharp otherwise; DJ tips rubbed, short tear to head of front spine and short tear with crease to rear head, extremities toned, unclipped and now wrapped in mylar.
Synopsis
Racconti Romani (Roman Tales) are a series of sixty-one short stories (often referred to as sketches) written by the Italian author, Alberto Moravia. Written and published initially in the Italian newspaper, Il Corriere della Sera, they were published as a collection in 1954 by Bompiani. All of the stories are set in Rome after World War II or its surroundings and focus on 'the common people of Rome' (Roma popolana).
