No jacket, as issued. xiii, 436 pp. 10 black and white photogravures with annotated tissue protectors, 30 other B&W images, including photo reproductions. Deckled edges on text block fore edge and foot. This is a historical look at the feudal chateaux of France, and is part travel journal and larger part lore and legend of the various chateaux throughout the land. "Romance is the child of History..." -- p. 1.
