Occupied France-"Foxhound, " a British agent operating from a village near Chartres, believes he has discovered a way to assassinate Field Marshal Rommel. He requests instructions. Berlin-Operation Valkyrie moves forward. It is the generals' plot to assassinate Hitter, replace him with Rommel, and then seek a negotiated peace. Berne-Allen Dulles, of the OSS, is approached by a secret emmisary from the generals. Would the Allies negotiate if Valkyrie were carried out? London-Allied intelligence groups decide to reject Foxhound's plan, but the Gestapo has blown his Resistance circuit, Foxhound has vanished.
