About This Item
Boston: Roberts Brothers, 1876. Spine lettered and designed in gillt. Brown endpapers. Edges and corners are worn. Spine extremities frayed, with 1/4" piece missing at foot. Previous owner name and inscription dated "Xmas 1879" on front preliminary page. Vignette title-page. This is the second printing of the book with the "s" on "with illustrations" partially removed leaving a period. The first printing had the full "s", which was changed because there is only a single illustration (first issue point). See BAL181. Text is clean. 375pp. In spite of the cover flaws, we offer it because the book does not appear on the market all that often.. First Edition, Second Printing. Green Cloth. General Cover Wear/No Dust Jacket. Octavo.
