Prior to his recent passing, Burdon had designed album art for everyone from Steppenwolf to The Eagles to Neil Young. In 1964, when the recent architectural school graduate designed a home for Mama Cass, she saw a level of artistic talent she felt would flourish in the field of album design and helped Burden get his start. More recently, he worked with artists Conor Oberst, My Morning Jacket and Kurt Vile. In this gorgeous, thoughtfully-designed book, Burdon features his 14 favorite designs, with album cover on each recto, and with interesting descriptions of the artistic process and story behind each creation on opposing page.
