Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company. Good with no dust jacket. 1897. Hardcover. xxiv, 619pp + 5 unnumbered pages. Maps, pictures, diagrams, appendices, indices. Book has red cloth covers with gold text on front and spine, gold borders on front, gilt on top edge of textblock. Minor wear and tears to head, tail and corners, corners bumped, sunning to spine, minor marks on covers. Front inner hinge cracked at half-title page, minor cracking at back inner hinge near bottom. Ex-library with text and sticker on spine, pocket on front pastedown and stamps, otherwise text is clear and unmarked. Binding is sound. Some pages have deckled edge from when pages were cut. ; Ex-Library; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 828 pages .
