About This Item

Heinemann, London., 1931. First edition. Octavo. pp [viii], 300. The author's third novel which, like his second The Name of Action, proved to be a failure artistically and commercially. After the publication of the American edition in 1932 he never allowed the book to be reprinted. Very good in the very scarce dustwrapper which is rubbed, torn and defective, albeit 90% present. The extensive tears have been sympathetically repaired on the reverse.
