LONDON: JOHN MURRAY, 1855 Brown Cloth Boards with Printed Paper title slip laid on, 225 x 150 mm approx. xxiv + 362 pp.+ Publisher's 30 page catalogue at end for Jan 1855. Frontis + 5 other illustrations as called for.First Edition 1855. The author Henry Danby Seymour was a member of the Liberal Party and sat as M.P. for Poole from 1850 to 1868. The copy offered for sale was owned by his fellow party member John Alfred Lush (21 March 1815 – 4 August 1888) who sat in the House of Commons from 1868 to 1880. Lush was the son of John Lush of Berwick St John, Wiltshire and his wife Martha Kelleway daughter of James Kelleway of Donhead, Wiltshire. VG (Book- Restoration work - the book has been recently re cased by us in brown cloth as above with new mull, applied head and tail bands, new back strip and end papers to make for a sound copy which will give many more years service. A little light foxing to prelims. All maps/plans in good order).
