Pages crisp, bright, and clean, with no owners' marks; square, tight binding; hard cover is one-quarter brightly illustrated white paper, the balance in a textured brown paper; the white portion is toned at the spine and bears modest softening and rubbing at the spine ends, and the brown portion shows a little wear at the free corners, otherwise well-kept and attractive. No dust jacket; head edges gilded, foreedges and heels cut (or at some signatures uncut). 334pp. w/index.; six full-page illustrations.
