This biography of the British composer by his widow is a detailed account of his career, during which he was at the center of musical events in England for some sixty years; includes a frontispiece photograph of the composer reclining on a hillside and many other photographs throughout the text (green cloth with gold lettering on brown spine label is slightly cocked, caricatures of the composer on the front and back endpapers, previous owner's name on the reverse of the front end paper, pages are slightly tanned; otherwise a bright, clean, tight copy)
