London: John Murray, 1960. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Good Plus. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾. N/a. 495pp. 1960. First edition. 8vo. sized. A very good, clean, tight copy in good plus or just possibly very good minus jacket. No inscriptions. Original publisher's black boards with gilt embossed titles to the spine and to the front board. The text supported by some illustrations to a short plate section. Slight spotting to the leading fore-edge. The jacket has been price-clipped; it has rubbing to the head and tail, short open tears (with light loss or associated chips) to the head and tail of the spine and a longer tear - again with some associated loss - of about 2.5cm in length to the upper corner of the rear panel. The jacket is in a fully reversible transparent plastic sleeve. A very good, clean, tight copy in good plus jacket.
