Black Elk was the only one of the older Oglala Sioux who was still alive when 'The Sacred Pipe' was written and it is he who told the words to the author on Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Related ephemera laid in. There is a name penned to the front free endpaper, otherwise a fine copy. Jacket lightly rubbed, now in loose mylar sleeve to protect from any further marking.
