Frontispiece engraving of the Plains of Galilee, Nazareth, protected by tissue guard. Illustrated title page. With six additional full-page engravings, all protected by tissue leaf. Work discusses the plains of Shinar Jordan, Mamre, Moab, Jericho, Sharon, Shiloh, Moreh, Dura, Esdraelon, Damascus and Galilee. Age wear and some staining on binding. Head and tail of spine bumped and slightly chipped. Ex-libris of C. L. Smith of Toledo, Ohio, on inside of front board, some writing in pencil by previous owner on front endpapers and verso of title-page. Sporadic foxing throughout. Small waterstain on bottom margin of first- and last two leaves. Binding in good-, interior in good+ condition.
