Book club edition produced in the same year as first publication. 204pp. Pale blue cloth boards (a little faded at edges). Small scuff at base of from endpaper else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. A strong, sound copy. In its original dust jacket, by Biro (a little rubbed at edges, small scuffing at corners). Jacket fitted with archival-quality mylar wrapper to protect & prolong its life. It is not adhered to the book or to the jacket. Written with the speed, force and economy of style expected of one of the most remarkable thriller writers, this novel is set against the background of the Cote d'Azu and the Cannes Film Festival and tells the story of a young degenerate with a compulsion to kill. James Hadley Chase was a pen name of René Lodge Brabazon Raymond. He also wrote under the names James L Docherty, Raymond Marshall, R Raymond and Ambrose Grant.
