About This Item

[Salt Lake City]: Bookcraft, 1946. First edition. Hardcover. V. Douglas Snow. SIGNED. Octavo [23 cm] Orange cloth covered boards with a sage green ink stamped title and wagon wheel vignette on the front cover. Very good. The edges of the spine and covers are very gently bumped and rubbed. The boards are just a tiny bit concave, and there is a minor stain on the top edge of the front board. There is also a very small light stain on one of the pages. Browned pages. The dust jacket is in good condition only, with rubbing and mild creasing and age-toning. There are numerous losses from the chipped edges. The largest losses are wide, but measure roughly one inch deep. There are a couple of small closed tears in the bottom edge and along the fold of the rear inside flap, and there is a 4 and 1/4 inch long thin open tear along the fold of the front inside flap. The spine of the jacket has a short thin tear in its surface. Three color Illustrations throughout by a young (19 years old) V.Douglas Snow. Inscribed by the author on the front free endsheet. From the dust jacket- " Known wherever poetry is read and enjoyed, the author has made a definite contribution to the folklore of the West with the stirring poetry which appears within this volume.
