About This Item

Italy: Gruppo Pointe Noire, 2005. Sahel: one look along a day Stated First Edition Private Press; Italy; 2005 4to size softcover with extended inner flaps like a dust jacket inside both covers; 127 heavyweight, glossy pages with full-page full color photographs and some two-page photo spreads. If you were so inclined, you could take the book apart to frame the photographs. This volume is photo essay of the Sahel region of Africa, an area of almost 1.2 million miles and according to Wikipedia "an ecoregion of semi-arid grasslands, savannas, steppes and thorn shrublands lying between the wooded Sudanian savanna to the south and the Sahara (Desert) to the north. " The few pages of text - we count five including the inside flaps of the book cover - are in Italian From inside front cover: "Un gruppo di amici e la passione per l'Africa. Lightly bumped corners of front cover; slightly musty aroma. No extra shipping charge if sent via US Media Mail; may be very expensive to ship overseas.
