Random House, 1939. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. First printing stated. Full dark red cloth boards in illustrated dust jacket, 8-1/4" x 5-3/4", 293 pp. One bit of discoloration to top of front board, some minor soiling to verso of DJ, rubbing to rear panel of jacket. The jacket is lovely, original $2.00 price intact. Shaw's first book of non-dramatic fiction; he had published only plays up to this point, and of course would later become best known as a novelist.
