Publisher's maroon boards with gilt spine lettering. Several, minor bumps to the corners, foxing to the top edge (which has crept into the text block in places) and (to a lesser extent) to the fore-edge otherwise a near fine copy in like D/W. Inscribed by the Author to the title page:: "To Paul Gallico ---/ bestest/ Leslie/ 73.10.10 [together with his customary stick-man doodle]". An uncommon title even more so inscribed by the Author.
