New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1932. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Translated from the French by Dorothy Bussy. First American edition. Winner of the 1931 Northcliffe Prize, awarded each year to the best French novel written by an author who is not a recognized "best seller." Blue cloth binding, with silver stamping. The dust jacket, with the wraparound band intact, is a touch browned along the spine and folds; otherwise a near fine copy.
