About This Item
New York: Harcourt Brace and Co., 1935. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. First edition First printing With more than 80 plates and vignettes by the author. A near fine cope in a near fine clipped jacket, (spine browned as always, slight soiling, somewhat frayed. 1/16" loss to top and bottom of jacket spine. Jacket is clipped. An excellent copy of Kent's autobiographical account of Greenland. The 22 full page illustrations are wonderful. Salamina is Rockwell Kent's adventurous autobiography, a true chronicle of many curious and romantic happenings, and a narrative which, in style and in richly varied content, reflects perfectly the remote and beautiful world of North Greenland with all its Arctic wonders, its friendly souls, its peaceful harbors, and its souring mountains.
