About This Item

Georgetown, California: The Talisman Press, 1964. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 16 illustrations, with endpaper maps. A collection of columns that appeared in the San Francisco Evening Picayune for the period beginning August 5, 1850 and ending April 17, 1852. Anticipating the work of modern journalists, the articles serve as a valuable and detailed record of the personalities, politics, and events of the time. Some minor fading and wear along the extremities of the boards. The dust jacket is a bit edgeworn, with tears to the top third of both folds that have been repaired with tape on the verso; otherwise a very good copy.
