New York: D. Appleton-Century Company, 1933. First Edition. (xiv)351 pages. Large octavo 6 1/4" x 9 1/4". Illustrated boards. Profusely illustrated from black and white drawings by E. H Suydam. First Printing (Stated and with the number 1 in brackets on the last text page.) INSCRIBED in ink on the half-title by author Charles Caldwell Dobie, "This book is inscribed for Frieda Buck by her friend Charles Caldwell Dobie / San Francisco November 12 / 1933." Also affixed to the half-title is a printed sticker which reads, "Three years or more ago, when the writing of this book was first projected, Aunty Pew expressed a wish that certain of her friends might have a copy. ...This is sent with her compliments and love." The sticker is signed in ink, "Clarence W. Dobie" (Author's brother). A near fine copy in a soiled, foxed and somewhat edgeworn Very Good Minus dust jacket, now in a clear mylar protective sleeve.
