One of the most important of the early Spanish mission settlements. Located on the Rio Grande at present Guerrero in the Mexican state of Coahuila, thirty-five miles southeast of what is now Eagle Pass, Texas. From here were dispatched expeditions to re-establish the East Texas missions, to plant a mission settlement on the San Antonio River, to provide supplies and provisions and to explore the land along the Rio Grande an across the river into the Edwards Plateau and Trans-Pecos regions.,
