Kegan Paul, Trench, Trubner & Co., 1890. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very good plus. Bret Harte's personal copy, with his signature on the hal- title page (dated London, June, 1890). Very good plus in olive boards with slight rubbing to spine ends and corners. Small bookplate on front pastedown and three-line clipping describing this copy affixed to bottom of flyleaf reverse, otherwise clean and tight.
