London: Hodder and Stoughton Limited Published in the US as Mr. Commissioner Sanders 1926. First Edition. Hardcover. Presumed first edition [undated, and unstated as to printing]. Red cloth with black lettering and with the front board bordered in blind, 317 pages Tuck [The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction and Fantasy, page 443]. Hubin [1984 Crime Fiction, page 411].
Good copy, lightly bumped, several nicks to the lower fore-edge of the front board which also has a small vertical area of soiling/staining, 1/2" light-colored spot stain near the center of the rear board, foxing/dust-soiling to the page edges, light foxing to the front and rear of the book but the main story text is clean, interior binding just starting although the hinges are not cracked, no dust jacket.
