About This Item
Curtis, 1972. Very Good. Vol. 244, No. 2, Summer 1972, baseball cover. Vintage large size ("bedsheet" size, or about 10.5 x 13 inches) tabloid-pinup magazine featuring articles, news, celebrity gossip and imagery, with some scandal coverage, sport, film, music, sometimes crosswords or cartoons, and the occasional scantily clad person. The selling point was, generally speaking, the person or situation on the front cover, often a celebrity or model who might also be found in a layout inside. Usually all covers were full-pg photos or illustrations, several by Normal Rockwell. This issue with Ed Smyth, Barbara Kevles, Mary Alice Sharpe, Kurt Vonnegut Jr. Very Good Plus, light rubbing, toning, foxing, a few creases, tears.
