London: George Virtue, 1842. A fabulous set in original very fine highly decorated leather bindings the two volume set is superbly decorated , the spine with raised bands diced blind decoration to the compartments two marroon labels with gilt titles and vol numbers, front and rear boards with double gilt & blind rulings and patterned rulings a large blind stamped middle decoration and diced decoration , please ask for photographs marbled end papers & all edges. Old fine family book plate on fpd gift inscription on fep. Half tiltle with very foxed engraving, all plates have some greying or foxing to the margins not effecting the plates, Volume 1 has a b&w map of Ireland profusely illustrated all complete in both volumes, Slip case is relatively new but very well done with marbled boards. Books are very heavy & will cost more to ship please email for costings and photos, An extremily handsome set!. First Edition. Full Brown Calf.. Fine/Slip Case Fine. Illus. by William Bartlett.
