Hardcover. **due to size, additional shipping cost required** 1883, 1st Edition Thus, Complete in 4 Volumes, Large 4to (23 cm x 30 cm) ; 3/4 Brown Leather Over Grey/Black Leather Boards, Gilt Title & Borders; 5 Raised Bands w Gilt Decorated Compartments, Title, Author; All Edges Gilt; Decorative End-Papers, Heavily Illustrated Throughout. In Very Good++ condition with strong spines showing no starting or cracking (unusual given the weight of these volumes) , strong hinges showing no separation or starting, inner contents exceptionally clean and appear unread. Outer covers show some general rubbing and shelf-wear: rubbing to the joints and edges, but again, absolutely no separation, starting, or looseness in the page-block; some rubbing and reading-wear to the spines, but no cracking or flaking. Leather is well hydrated with no chipping or brittleness; minor corner and edge-wear. In all a very handsome set. Due to the value of this item, it will be shipped with insurance and signature confirmation at no additional cost to the buyer. SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION IS NON-NEGOTIABLE. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall .
