NY: Simon and Schuster, 1960. F/F. 1st edition, 1st printing. 40 individual folio color plates illustrating various aspects of art in science. Plates are unusual paintings, drawings and photographs by a wide variety of artists. Each plate is separated by an onion skin folio page imprinted with a brief legend describing the plate. The color engravings are printed on Polar Superfine Enamel paper. Minimal text is on Wescar Vellum Offset paper. Entire set is boxed in a folding box. A 4-page folio preface, "The Creative Process" by J. Bronowski, is also included. Complete set of plates, all in fine condition. Folio box has short mark on front.
