Slight rubbing to covers (leather over cloth; chiefly to edges); slight internal browning to edges and endpapers. xvi, 298, [2] pages. Contains 77 short essays in all, plus the author's preface; includes a few bibliographical references. Bound in 3/4 dark green morocco over gray-green cloth by F. & E. Stoneham Limited, London, gilt-stamped and decorated spine with partly raised bands, covers ruled gilt, light green marbled endpapers, t.e.g., remaining edges trimmed. In supplied clear mylar protective jacket.
