About This Item

E-372: Lyle Stuart, Inc.. Very Good in Very Good dust jacket. 1971. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Hardcover. 4to. Lyle Stuart, New York. 1971. 178 pgs. Illustrated with numerous black and white photos. First Edition/First Printing. DJ has light shelf-wear present to the DJ extremities. Bound in cloth boards with titles present to the spine and front board. Boards have light shelf-wear present to the extremities. Previous owner's name present to the FFEP. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. First published on Nov. 4, 1968, the day that Richard Nixon was first elected. "The Sex Review" was an iconoclastic weekly newspaper that besides promoting an honest, if somewhat over the top (and bottom) attitude on sex, took on politicians, popes, actors you name it. The legendary Al Goldstein and Jim Buckley were its editors and they were not afraid to mock and ridicule the high and the mighty. This may have had something to do with the multiple arrests Goldstein and Buckley sustained. Screw had not yet hit its stride and it's fun to look at attitude and mores circa 1968-1971. There is even a lengthy interview with John Lennon and Yoko Ono with photos of them in the buff. EB; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 178 pages .
