London: James and John Knapton et. al., 1730. First Edition. Hardcover. Title page soiled, laid down with minor marginal losses; some quires heavily foxed or stained but most of text and plates clean with a closed tear about 3 inches to one plate with no loss. Early signature of Benjamin Hale on the front pastedown. Leather very dry, front board and endpaper detached, the spine leather lacking but the text block solid. Good overall. Folio (10-1/2" x 17") bound in contemporary calf with the spine leather lacking and the front board detached; [ii], vi, [iv], 774, [24] pages. Complete with table of contents, list of subscribers, index, 13 maps, and 8 plates, 6 of which are folding. Most of the maps are of the Holy Land. The plates depict the Tower of Babel, Solomon's Temple, etc.
