About This Item

San Jose: The Pacific Short Story Club, 1928. 1st Edition . Very good in illustrated stiff wraps (with minor soiling) over cardboard boards. Slight paper clip ghost along top edge of several pages, otherwise clean and tight. INSCRIBED AND SIGNED by Bland on the flyleaf. Also included are four typed pages of poems by Bland: "A Song of Songs" (included in this volume), signed and dated by Bland; "Mother" with notation "unpublished" possibly in Bland's hand; "Lost Flyers" (also with a written note) and "The Pioneer Ministers." This page is dated May 28th, 1926 and all of the pages are likely contemporaneous. A rare archive of material by Bland, who was California's Poet Laureate from 1929-31.
