He also won an Oscar for the screenplay of Places in the Heart, which Nestor Almendros also lensed. Nestor Almendros won the Academy Award for Cinematography for Days of Heaven. He was nominated for Academy Awards for Kramer vs Kramer, The Blue Lagoon and Sophie's Choice. He did cinematography for Claire's Knee, Chloe in the Afternoon, Cockfighter, The Last Metro, and many others. He was known for using natural light in his films. First U.S. edition / First printing.
