About This Item
NY: Harcourt, Brace, (1944.) 1st edition. Signed as "Red Warren" – Red being his college nickname and generally used only with family and close acquaintances. Inscribed to his friend, Emily (Sweetser) Alford, and dated 1944. 102 pp. 8vo clothbound hardcover. VG with wear at the spine ends, moderate age toning of the text. Pages 50-51 are browned, apparently from an old newspaper clipping that has since been removed. Two recent items related to Emily are laid in: A copy of her brief death notice from the NY Times and a print-out of a photo from her college days. Lacking the paper dust jacket but protected by a new, clear archival jacket. A solid copy overall with the uncommon "Red Warren" signature.
