It was noted that crocodilians apparently are an exception, in that they frequently display a random distribution of teeth in all stages of replacement. The present study, based on examination of crocodilians of all ages, explains this deviation from the common orderly sequence, and represents data on the time required to complete the replacement process...The purpose of this paper is not to describe the dentitions of the various taxa of crocodilains, but to discuss the methods of replacement of individual teeth and the rate and sequence in which each tooth in the dentition is replaced."
