Sir John Henniker Heaton (1848-1914), Member of Parliament, redoubtable postal reformer, and journalist in Australia. John Thomas Knowles (1831-1908), editor, friend of Tennyson. In June 1893 there appeared in The Nineteenth Century Heaton’s article: Post Office ‘Plunders and Blunders’.
