Church-Street, Romsey [UK]: Printed for William Sharp, 1816. Hardcover. Poor. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Twentieth edition. xvi, 432, [4]pp. Bound in full, plain brown calf's leather with gilt border decorations, and gilt lettering and decorations on spine, inner gilt dentelles, all edges gilt. Grey-green endpapers. Front board detached; boards a little marked and rubbed all round edges, chipping with minor loss at spine ends. Front free endpaper partially detached, else text block is neat, clean, bright and tight barring previous owner's name and a little spotting on prelims. 8vo. Best suited for restoration or rebinding. Law's classic work on Christian morality and life, together with a biographical note on Law by the eminent historian Edward Gibbon, best know for his History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.
