Small volume in full leather with raised bands and red title-label. Nothing before title-page so consists of title-page with vignette of an ass, baskets and book, errata page with catalogue for J Johnson on reverse, dedication to Mess. G W, J W, W R, and M M (2), Preface vi, Sermons 212, two free rear end-papers. Leather is rubbed and lightly marked and with loss on lower edges. Date of "April 27 1880" scrawled in purple pencil on inside front cover. Paper is split over front inner hinge but binding is otherwise sound. Pages are unmarked. No dust jacket, as published.
