Michael Joseph, London, 1959. First Edition. Hardcover. Good Condition/Good. Black coloured boards with white coloured illustration and gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper with white coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. This is the story of what happens when a man who never tells lies, is convicted of murder on perjured evidence. Softening of the back strip edges with a little rubbing of the book corners and lower book edges. Uniform tanning of the text block edges and age toning of the pages. There is a stain to the front text block edge, the first quarter – please see photograph. Offset tanning to the free front end page and previous owners name to the top right-hand corner of the same page. Minor chipping of the front dustwrapper corners and to the back strip corners. Sunning to the back strip and rear panel. Remnants of a sticker can be seen to the top right-hand corner of the front panel and there are other sundry marks also present.
