About This Item
New York: Harper & Brothers Publisher 1890. Later Printing. Hardcover. Unstated later printing [with code I-M on the copyright page, so probably 1912 but also possibly 1937]. Red cloth with black lettering/decoration/border, 281 pages, tissue-guarded frontispiece. A collection of 7 stories, most are set in New England, plus an introduction. The last story ["A Speakin' Ghost"] is, as its title implies, a ghost story. Not listed in Bleiler, Locke, Reginald or Tuck. An otherwise fairly nice copy save for top edge dust-soiling/foxing, relatively light cracking of the front hinge, and some uneven toning to the free endpapers; in edge worn, plain jacket witrh short tears, with scattered creasing and with some dust-soiling/toning.
