With the line illustrations at pages 304-305 misprinted in the illustrations list as 302-303, as called for. In full cloth binding with gilt detail. Illustrated with a frontispiece, forty-seven illustrated plates, and four folding maps. Collated complete. The incredible autobiographical account of British Army colonel, T. E. Lawrence who was military advisor to Bedouin forces during the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Empire in 1916-18. Described by Winston Churchill as ranking 'with the greatest books ever written in the English language'. Adapted into the famous 1962 film, 'Lawrence of Arabia'. With the bookplate of one 'Cecil Harold Wight' to the front paste-down. In full cloth binding with gilt detail. Externally, very smart with some light shelf wear and bumping. The occasional mark, with slight damp staining to the rear board. Fading to the spine. Previous owner's bookplate to the front paste-down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with just the odd spot throughout. Light age-toning to the edges. Some shelf wear to the fore-edge. Very Good

Synopsis

Seven Pillars of Wisdom is the autobiographical account of the experiences of British soldier T. E. Lawrence ("Lawrence of Arabia"), while serving as a liaison officer with rebel forces during the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Turks of 1916 to 1918.
