Octavo; G; green spines with gilt text; no jackets; cloths have some whitish spotting to exteriors; slight rubbing wear to edges; straight boards; textblocks have modestly age toned exterior edges; previous owner's small label to front endpaper to each volume; small notation to front pastedown to volume 1; previous owner's name to front endpaper to volume 2; slight offsetting to endpapers; frontispiece with tissue guard to each volume; slight defect to gutter at several pages, probably due to age and use; interiors mildly toned; pp 332+290; volume 1 inscribed by author
