New York: George H. Doran Company, 1923. First Edition. . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. Bound in brown cloth with titles stamped in darker brown. Publisher's colophon to both the title and copyright pages, indicating the first edition. Inscribed and signed by the author to Marie (Ahnighito) Peary Stafford and dated March 15, 1923 on the front free endpaper. Laid in is a three-page ALS to Stafford from Graves thanking her for her comments on his book and looking forward to seeing her, with her husband, on Friday the next. Original envelope included, dated March 14, 1923. Mrs. Stafford's bookplate is affixed to the front pastedown. The book has cracked hinges, both of which have been repaired, with more success to the rear than the front, although the volume is solid. Cigarette burn to the front cover exterior only. Corners bumped with small frays; spine a bit foxed. Of special interest to those interested in Robert Peary and his family. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall
