Whittaker and Co., 1858. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1858. Second Edition. 720 pages. No dust jacket. Green cloth. Volume Four. Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout. Some pages are uncut to top edge. Cracking to gutters of a few pages with exposed binding. Occasional thumb-marking present. Pencil underlining and marginalia to a few pages. Cracking to hinges with exposed binding, causing boards to be loose. White water stained marking to pastedowns, with creasing. Text-block is slightly loose from binding. Boards have moderate edge wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Crushing to spine ends with small splits and fraying to cloth. Notable tanning to spine and edges. Scuffing and minor white marks overall. Notable water staining to surfaces.
